Professor Nagy Habib is an academic surgeon and in July 2003 was awarded the position of professor of hepatobiliary surgery in the department of surgery and cancer, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. Professor Habib is director of the hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) unit at Hammersmith Hospital. North west London has the best one-year, three-year, five-year and ten-year survival figures in England for patients with liver cancer. The average ten-year survival figure is about three times higher in north west London compared to the average for the whole of England (17.98 versus 6.66 years). Patients with pancreatic cancer in north west London have the best three-year, five-year and ten-year survival rates compared to the rest of England. The ten-year survival figure in north west London was almost double the rest of London and four times the average for the whole of England. The 30-day operative mortality is the lowest in Europe (1.3% in 1,000 consecutive liver resections). Professor Habib was selected as one of the top 10 surgeons in the UK by the Saturday Times Magazine and he was honoured to be elected to join the French Academy of Surgeons and the European Surgical Association. He has published more than 340 articles in scientific journals.

Dr. José Inzunza (B.S., M.Sc., Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor and Senior researcher at the Department of Biosciences and Nutrition, Karolinska Institutet (KI). He received his doctorate in obstetrics and Gynecology at Karolinska University Hospital, KI. With a specialization in cytogenetics, he worked on his doctoral work with a project in clinical application of preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). He has also been involved in the development and implementation of the laboratory for derivation and differentiation of human embryonic stem cell research at KI. This was the first bank of human embryo stem cells in Sweden and Scandinavia. José has also worked with cellular re-programming. Today, José's line of research is in stem cells and tumorogenesis and genetic stability of these cells during the differentiation process.

Dimosthenis Mavrilas is a professor of Biomedical Engineering in the Lab. of Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering, Dept.of Mechanical Engineering & Aer/tics, University of Patras, Greece. He is an expert in biomechanics of biomaterials and biomedical engineering of cardiovascular system. Last decade his research targets in tissue engineering, producing scaffolds either of biological origin (decellularized animal tissues) or from synthetic polymers. His research team achieved the production of either random or parallel fibrous orientation of synthetic biodegradable polymeric nanofibers, capable for the structure of multi laminate biomimetic scaffolds, suitable especially for cardiovascular tissue engineering.

Professor Lars Bolund got his MD and DMSc degrees from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. He has been working in genetics research since 1964, holding positions in many countries, including Sweden, Britain, USA, Denmark and P.R.China. He started his career as a Professor of Clinical Genetics at University of Aarhus in the year 1967. Then he continued to career as Senior Advisor and Adjunct Professor of the Beijing Genomics Institute in the year 1999. He was honoured with prizes like “The Foundation of 1870” Research Prize at 1987, Honorary Professor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at 1998; Knight of the Royal Order of Dannebrog at 1985; Knight of the 1st class of the Royal Order of Dannebrog at 1998 and honoured with the Chinese National Friendship Award in connection with the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, 2009. He has 41 years as a professor and currently his researches are into the sequencing of genes and regenerative medicine. Now he became the President of the “BGI / Lars Bolund Institute of Regenerative Medicine”, Qingdao/Weifang, China. He has more than 400 scientific publications and patents in the field of genome/gene structure and function in cell biology and medical genetics, molecular cell pathology of complex diseases, development of genetically designed animal models of complex disease processes, somatic cell/gene therapy and other forms of regenerative medicine.

Dr. Yaegaki had received Doctor of Dental Science, and then completed his PhD in Medicine from Kureme University Medical Biochemistry and postdoctoral studies from University of British Columbia. He was trained as an Oral maxillofacial Surgeon at School of Medicine Kurume University. His speciallity was facial injuaries. He is a director and head of Oral Health at Nippon Dental University, which is the oldest dental school in Asia, also a Dean of PhD program. He has published more than 150 papers and over 20 chapters.

Andrzej Lange graduated with a medical degree with distinction from the Medical School in Wroclaw, Poland is a professor in the Institute of Immunology and Exp Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences and a founder and head of the Lower Silesian Center of Cellular Transplantation in Wroclaw. His international experience started in 1973-1974 as a Leverhulme fellow in the Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London. He has been a visitor and lectured in several European and North American scientific institutions. Known from his activity in the field of bone marrow transplantation and regenerative medicine. Andrzej Lange was awarded several scientific distinctions and served to a number of National and European institutions were also active in co-editing journals. He is an author and co-author of 249 scientific papers, in peer-reviewed journals with a cumulative IF of 270 in the years 1995–2017.

Dr. Ian James Martins is an Editor/Reviewer for Open Access Pub/MDPI journals and various other international journals. Advisory Board Member for Photon Journal. Fellow of International Agency for Standards and Ratings (IASR). Conferred with the RICHARD KUHN RESEARCH AWARD-2015 ENDOCRINOLOGY AND METABOLISM. Chief Editor for International Journal of Diabetes Research (2014-2018), Research and Reviews: Neuroscience (2016-2018) and Journal of Diabetes and Clinical Studies (2017-2018). Interests in Biomarker Research has escalated with relevance to mitochondrial survival and organ disease in diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. The global chronic disease epidemic is expected to cost Biomarker Research between 15 to 20 billion dollars in the next 20 years. Biomarkers such as Sirtuin 1 are now relevant to mitochondrial apoptosis versus mitochondrial biogenesis and may supersede the various biomarkers for mitochondrial survival relevant to diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegenerative disease research. He also has 100+ publications.
